Newspaper: How many Van Joneses remain?

The resignation of self-avowed Communist and America-hater Van Jones as Barack Obama's "Green Czar" is welcome news in all but the most far-left circles.

But The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review editorial board wonders how many more far-left radicals are holding key positions in the Obama Administration.

From a recent editorial:
Van Jones quits: How many more?

In the end, Van Jones smeared himself.

Under the cover of the darkness of a holiday weekend, the White House announced the resignation of Mr. Jones, the "green jobs" policy chief. He was one of the Obama administration's many policy "czars" who, unlike Cabinet members, escaped congressional scrutiny before his appointment. (Talk about a "shadow government.")

Jones is a piece of work. His radical left extremism should have disqualified him from any post in government.

Jones is a self-avowed communist. He supports convicted cop-killer Mumia abu-Jamal. Jones, who is black, believes there's a conspiracy among whites to pollute minority neighborhoods.

He signed a petition that alleged the U.S. government somehow allowed the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Some of his defenders intimated he didn't realize what he was signing, which only raises more questions about his fitness to serve.

And Jones also referred to Republicans with an expletive in a recent exchange posted on YouTube. It's hardly the temperament of someone charged with overseeing policy implementation of any sort, let alone this bogus notion of "green jobs."

Jones claims he's the victim of "lies and distortions" and a "smear campaign" orchestrated by the right. As if reporting the truth about him is a "smear."

Van Jones is gone. But we are forced to ask how many Van Joneses remain?
