Cops: Mom made 6-year-old drive car

A Chester County woman is facing child endangerment charges for allegedly forcing her 6-year-old daughter to drive a car, according to The West Chester Daily Local News.

From a story by reporter Danielle Lynch:
COATESVILLE — A 30-year-old Coatesville woman was arrested after she allegedly instructed her 6-year-old daughter to drive a car, according to police.

Coatesville police noticed a young driver operating a white Dodge Durango station wagon in the area of South Fourth Avenue and Walnut Street about 4:20 p.m. Sunday, according to court records. During a traffic stop of the vehicle, police noticed a 6-year-old female was operating the vehicle while her mother was "sitting in the passenger seat laughing about the incident and stating she was teaching her to drive," records say.

The 6-year-old girl then became upset and began to cry. The girl's aunt arrived while police were conducting the traffic stop.

The aunt reportedly asked the young girl if her mother made her drive the vehicle. The girl replied, "Mom made me drive because she was sleepy," records say.
