Reading, PA - FreedomWorks members and area taxpayers will gather Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 5:00 PM, at the Gus Yatron Post Office, 1300 North 13th Street, to send a message to leaders of both parties that taxpayers are angry with the bailouts, debt, pork projects, and wasteful spending rampant in Washington.
Part of the national movement of "tea parties," protesters are gathering in the spirit of the Sons of Liberty in Boston, who in 1773 protested the British government by dumping tons of tea into the harbor.

H. John Stahl commented: "The behavior of the politicians in Washington has spurred taxpayers around the nation to action. Americans are rightfully angry with the current activity and will not sit silently while being robbed. Local residents are joining their voices with thousands of others across the nation and our voice will be heard. The movement is just beginning."
"It is not just taxes and spending: it's the whole attitude. We doubt that those who elected the current Congress want the assault on liberty and America that we believe is taking place. Many of our supporters are angry about the census in the White House, the takeover of private business, the attitude of leftists in Washington in general and illegal immigration."
