THORNS to Democrats on the House budget-writing committee for accusing the Corbett administration of not doing enough to prepare for the possibility that Pennsylvania’s embattled voter-identification law will be enforced in this year’s general election. The lawmakers are questioning why there is no money for voter outreach in Corbett’s budget plan. Our question is why would money be set aside to explain a law that is not currently being implemented as it awaits a ruling by the courts. The discussion, and certainly the spending, is unnecessary until the rule is set to go into effect.
